  • Grandfather Mountain
    Grandfather Mountain features the famous mile high swinging bridge. Its peak is the highest elevation in the Blue Ridge chain. We highly recommend this as a day trip during your stay. There are fantastic hiking trails and plenty of natural beauty.

  • The Blowing Rock
    Yes, there actually is a "blowing rock" in the NC Mountains. This huge rock cliff is said to have such a wind gust, that it is the only place on earth where it snows upside down. It is part natural wonder and part tourist attraction.

    "North Carolina's Original Family Theme park" - Tweetsie Railroad is a short drive from A Bear's Den Cabin. There is plenty of live family entertainment including music, magic, clogging, wild west shows and more. The amusement park features a steam engine, fun rides, gem mining, and gold panning.
